On October 6, 2011 Mid-Iowa Health Foundation and the Iowa Department of Public Health were pleased to co-host a presentation of the groundbreaking Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Study by Dr. Robert Anda, Center for Disease Control Scientific Consultant and Principal Investigator for the ACEs Study. The study showed a powerful and compelling correlation between harmful experiences in childhood and poor adult health status decades later.
In 2011 the Mid-Iowa Health Foundation Board of Directors undertook a strategic visioning process. While priorities for our two grantmaking programs are shifting beginning in 2012, and Community Response proposals will be reviewed once annually, our commitment to the health of vulnerable people in our community remains steadfast. Please check back here in the coming months for updates and details on the new Community Response application and fall deadline.
