Rob Barron

Executive Director of the Seed Coalition and Mid-Iowa Health Foundation Board Vice Chair

Rob X. Barron joined Mid-Iowa Health Foundation's  Board of Directors in 2019. In addition to serving as Vice Chair, Rob serves on the Governance and Audit Committees. He is the Executive Director of the Seed Coalition, a network of colleges and universities in the Midwest that are focused on civic engagement and equitable campus-community partnerships.  Rob was elected to the Des Moines City Council in 2025, becoming the first Latino ever elected in Iowa's largest city. He is also the co-founder of the Latino Political Network, a non-partisan organization which serves to educate and empower Latinos to serve at all levels of elected office throughout Iowa. Prior to joining Seed Coalition he previously worked for Senator Tom Harkin (ret.), NextGen Climate, and Grand View University.
