Enhance Culturally, Socially Responsive Health Care

The Des Moines University Behavioral Medicine, Medical Humanities & Bioethics Department and Diversity and Multicultural Affairs Department seek to expand current educational offerings related to providing culturally responsive care and to understanding the impacts of social determinants of health and racism on patients’ health. This will be achieved by expanding the Foundations of Physicianship course as well as holding multiple speaker series events featuring regional and national experts with invitations to the local community as well as medical stakeholders and hospital systems within the Greater Des Moines area.
