Trauma-Informed Supervision

With an initial grant from Mid-Iowa Health Foundation and Polk County Decategorization, supervisors in the Polk County Dept. of Human Services' Child Welfare Division went through a process of training and conversations with Chris Foreman at the National Center for Child Traumatic Stress to identify the impact of secondary traumatic stress and intentionally build protective factors in the workplace. This training is now being expanded to supervisors throughout the Polk County DHS and Juvenile Court Services systems.
