This document summarizes Dr. Maria Corona's research findings on Latinx families strengths and regenerative powers despite legal violence and offers opportunities for all Iowans to promote safe and healthy communities. Using a variety of theoretical perspectives and qualitative techniques to analyze the data, Corona identified the strategies, tools, and sources of strength that support Latinx families and help them remain active members of their communities. These resilience factors are used as families experience toxic levels of stress due to restrictive immigration policies and racist social climates.
